“What’s wrong?” she asked. I did not want to tell her, but she was the only person in the room with me at the time. I told her what happened, and she immediately ran to tell my grandmother. From there, everything was resolved. I was scared, humiliated, and depressed. You are probably thinking to yourself- what are you humiliated for? Well, the answer to that question is very obvious. My little sister had the courage and knowledge to do what I should have done. One would think that I would have called the police but at that point in time my life was the only thing on my mind, and I know that that sounds a little egocentric, but that was me at the time. Thinking back on this is really a strenuous task, but it really did alter the way I view the world today.
This encounter made me realize that everyone in the world is not the same and loyalty is rare. It revealed to me that there really are such things as sin, but looking back at all of the wrong things, I realized that there were some beneficial things to my learning gained. For example, there are some people who really do care for others, even if they do not know who they are. This world is not the safest place to live in. I learned that in this world everything is not as fair as I thought it was. It is a world of wonder and one has to wonder what is to come.
