MBA Career Management

The Career Management Center (CMC) at the the Jindal School of Management understands the challenges MBA students encounter when trying to manage their academic coursework and job/internship search if they are seeking to make a career transition. The CMC offers specific tools and programs to help MBA students develop a career management strategy.

CMC Services and Professional Development Programs

The CMC staff works closely with our Full-Time MBA students during their 16-month programs. Dedicated career coaches meet with each student to create effective resumes, improve interviewing capabilities, and develop a customized, strategic plan for obtaining the desired position upon graduation. The CMC offers:

  • Access to career related resources
  • Interview rooms for phone or Skype interviews
  • Networking and professional development opportunities with partner companies

Professional MBA students also have access to this service and are encouraged to get to know our CMC staff and specifically utilize the resources available to them during their MBA programs. Whether actively seeking a career transition or focusing on professional development, the CMC offers a variety of events and benefits designed to enhance your MBA curriculum.

  • ExecutiveLink: This program provides the opportunity for Full-Time MBA students to engage senior-level executives in their places of business to leverage the students’ academic experience.
  • Industry Forums: The CMC hosts industry forums in the fall and spring semesters. Executives from local businesses share their stories and career advice. Full-Time MBA students are permitted early access to forums to network with employer panelists.
  • Mock Interview Days: The best way to prepare for an interview is to practice and interview with recruiters and HR managers from local companies. Full-Time MBA students receive priority registration.
  • Career Management Connections: CMC² is a networking event exclusively for Jindal School of Management students. Full-Time MBA students receive priority registration.

Aaron Henry

Full-Time MBA Program
Class of 2018

Aaron received a B.A. in Political Science with Minors in Economics and Leadership Studies from Hardin-Simmons University in 2017. It was during his undergrad that he became fascinated with leadership and organizational growth which led him to pursue an MBA. Aaron believes that persistence and curiosity are at the crux of individual, as well as organizational success. With his concentrations in Strategic Management and Finance, he hopes to land a role in business consulting to help businesses pursue sustainable interactions with customers and clients. Aaron chose UT Dallas over other business schools due to its career-focused approach and supportive mentality towards students.

Gaurang Agarwal

Gaurang is an Electronics and Telecommunication Engineer (2012) from M.I.T. College of Engineering in Maharashtra, India. During his 5 years working at NIIT Technologies Limited, he led various cross functional teams to provide tech solutions to US-based insurance firms. He is a firm believer of collaboration and win-win strategic thinking. Gaurang aims to accelerate the growth of small and medium sized businesses using modern business methods and the latest technologies. He chose the UT Dallas MBA program because of the small class size, warm culture, international student friendly environment, high return of investment, alumni network, and flexible coursework. Gaurang is also a photography enthusiast and is currently associated with The Mercury, UT Dallas Newspaper.

Joel Burnham

Joel began working for himself in the audiovisual industry shortly after his high school graduation. After receiving a B.A. in English from UT Arlington, he had a brief jaunt into the world of publishing but decided that career was not for him. Since 2005, he has traveled all over the United States providing technological and operational expertise in audio and video systems. After twelve years, the extensive jet-setting became a driving force in his decision to return to school for an MBA from UT Dallas. Along with a desire to work locally to be home with his growing family, Joel is passionate about people, especially entrepreneurs, and would like to be a part of their financial success. Joel chose UTD for its breadth of experience in the finance and entrepreneurial sectors and because of its small cohort, short length of time out of the workforce, and the staff who are committed to the success of each student.

Mia Tang

Full-Time MBA Program
Class of 2018

Mia received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from Tongji University in Shanghai, China. Before joining the UT Dallas Full-Time MBA program, she was the Total Rewards & Compensation Manager at Allianz Life Insurance. During her three years with Allianz, she had international assignments in Singapore and Germany for internal consulting projects and had the opportunity to build the inaugural employee stock options. She was attracted to UT Dallas’ diverse, intimate, and collaborative community as well as the flexible curriculum, which allows her to pursue a joint degree in Business Analytics. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling, dancing and teaching Chinese calligraphy.

Michael Benoit

Full-Time MBA Program
Class of 2018

A native Dallas resident, Michael has a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Dallas. He worked in finance at Fidelity Investments for 2 years, and then left for an opportunity to do Business to Business sales for FedEx Services, where he received the highly-coveted President’s Club award. He is currently pursuing an MBA at UT Dallas with a concentration in Supply Chain Management in order to make a career change and prepare himself to be a business leader. He chose UTD because of its value, measured by the high quality of its education, its high national rankings, and low tuition cost. Michael, a self-certified nerd, enjoys reading, playing guitar, and travelling.

Sami Reynolds

Full-Time MBA Program
Class of 2018

Sami earned a classroom teaching license and a B.A. in History from Texas State University. With her teaching license, Sami taught high school social studies before she continued her education and earned an English-as-a-Second-Language teaching certificate. This led her to work as an English teacher in Liberia, Costa Rica in 2015. One year later, Sami returned to the United States and started working at Texas State University as an administrative assistant. Working in higher education pushed her to pursue an MBA and transition into the Information Technology field. Sami chose UTD’s MBA program because of its small, diverse cohort environment, and its eagerness to help students transition into new careers. In her free time, Sami enjoys reading, watching movies, outdoor activities such as swimming and rock-climbing, and is a passionate traveler (9 countries and counting)!

Sathi Sikdar

Full-Time MBA Program
Class of 2018

Sathi is from Kolkata, India and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur. Upon graduation, Sathi joined Schneider Electric as a Product Design Engineer in the Research and Development department based out of Vadodara, India. Sathi collaborated with different cross-functional teams within the organization in India and outside India including France, Germany, and Egypt during her 4-year association with the organization. She developed a prime product in the medium voltage market and led several domestic and international projects. Apart from her professional successes, Sathi represented Schneider Electric as a campus ambassador, volunteered in CSR initiatives, and organized a company-wide technology event. Sathi decided to pursue her MBA because she felt the need to have a broader business perspective so she can make a greater impact on her organization. She chose the Full-Time MBA program at UT Dallas because of its small cohort size, high return on investment, and wide choice of elective courses. After earning her MBA, Sathi would like to be a Product Manager and make new technologies available to consumers and businesses. She has a deep interest in travel photography and has traveled extensively to different parts of India. Sathi believes that traveling and meeting new people always open new doors of learning.

Seth Orsborn

Full-Time MBA Program

Seth is an expert at navigating the fuzzy front end of the integrated new product development process, from opportunity identification to integrated prototyping for product approval. He brings a design attitude to user-centered methodologies for creating innovation. Seth has a strong aesthetic sensitivity combined with technical proficiency and believes that great design resides at the symbiosis of marketing strategy, engineering, and design with the intention of meeting the needs, wants, and desires of the user. Seth believes that pursuing inspiration, embracing ambiguity, and maintaining curiosity are necessary for discovering paths that lead to both disruptive and incremental innovations. Seth enrolled in the Full-Time MBA program at the University of Texas at Dallas to increase his leadership effectiveness and balance his design and innovation experience. He intends to pursue his passions in marketing, product planning, and innovation strategy within the automotive industry. Seth is a somewhat non-traditional Full-Time MBA student in that he gained full-time employment as a Senior Portfolio Planning Strategist with Toyota after his first semester in the program.

Shubhodeep Sengupta

Full-Time MBA Program
Class of 2017

Shubhodeep received his Bachelor of Engineering in Information Science and Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Bengaluru, India in 2009. He has worked with Cisco (formerly NDS) as software developer building user-interfaces for 7 years in the set-top-box industry, with UPC in Europe being his primary client. He has international work experience having worked in Paris, France for 1.3 years. His current focus is on Product Development in pursuit of which he chose to come back to academia and pursue his MBA. He chose UT Dallas for its small and diverse cohort, return on investment and a strong alumni network. His other passions include football(soccer), travelling (12 countries and counting), music and reading thrillers. He also firmly believes in social outreach and founded a club in his undergraduate that provided education to rural children in English and Computers.

Shobhit Gupta

Full-Time MBA Program
Class of 2017

Shobhit is from New Delhi, India and received his Bachelors of Engineering degree in electrical and electronics from Manipal Institute of technology, Karnataka and began working for IBM upon graduation. While working in the telecom industry, he had the opportunity to make an impact on the largest subscriber base across India (3rd largest across the world) with the highest quality products. He gained four years of experience in the technology and operations industry as a Quality Control Lead. With the help of the MBA, Shobhit wants to help grow businesses through analytical insights and optimized supply chain settings. He chose UT Dallas over four other American business schools because of the small size of the cohort program, fast turnover, and a high return on investment. Shobhit is focusing his electives within Supply Chain Management and Business Analytics and has a passion for lighting and illumination. He enjoys playing the drums, composing music, travelling and outdoor activities.
